~Anatasia~
At seven years old my world went dark and no light has touched me since. Left alone in a world I didn’t fit into any longer I struggle with my blindness daily. Despite the darkness that shrouds me I see light in one place, with one person. He has no idea how much hope his light has given me. Until one fateful January night when I confessed my feelings for him only to be instantly crushed. Now I am surrounded by darkness once again….

~Grayson~
At 21, I met the most amazing resilient girl, she was going to prove to people that her disability didn’t own her. At 25, I watched in fascination as she became an incredible young lady; much too young for me. At 31, I wished that she would ‘see’ me as I was beginning to see her, beautiful, determined, and independent but all that changed in a handful of cruel words. Now at 33 all I prayed for was a second chance to fix my mistakes….

REVIEW:

Blind Expectations was author Nikki Leigh’s first book and I think it was a good read! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the premise of this book and the overall story. I am a sucker for a good romance and always love to read about characters who have gone through their own trials and tribulations and come out stronger.

Asia has gone through a lot in her life- family that has let her down, relationships that have failed with cruel exes, and learning to take care of herself while also adjusting to losing her sight as a young child. If you’ve wanted a happy ever after for any character in any book, you will desperately want Asia to have her happily ever after!

Grayson has also had his challenges. One thing I love about Grayson is just his love and passion for Asia. He knows that there was a time in his life where he had to let her go and couldn’t love her the way he wanted, but he has the opportunity now and he’s not giving it up.

Asia refers to Grayson multiple times as caveman and it seems to be a good nickname for him! I love a guy who is possessive and can take charge, but also fosters and encourages your own personal strength and independence.

Overall, I liked this story. At times, I felt like there were too many details. I also felt like the love established between Asia and Grayson was that insta-love feeling where the reader wasn’t necessarily there to see how they got to the strong feelings they already had for each other at the beginning of the story. I still enjoyed their story, though!  I will be keeping my eye out for any other reads coming from this author in the future!
