Soo excited to share with y'all the cover for J.B. Salsbury's newest book, A Father's Fight!

How awesome is that cover?! I love it!! I am SO excited for another book about Blake, Mouse and the newcomer... Mini-mouse ;)

A Father’s Fight

Life changes in the span of a heartbeat. One, tiny heartbeat.

Blake and Layla have lived through disappointment and regret, only finally finding relief with the powerful love they have for each other. A love they intend to fight to keep.

They’ve had to forgive each other, but can they truly move forward without facing the pain of the past?

Layla’s been avoiding the phone calls. Nine months pregnant and exhausted, she doesn’t want the complication. But she can’t run from the truth. Whoever’s calling was there eighteen years ago. Unlike her, he remembers the night that changed the course of her life, and he’s ready to talk.

Blake’s preoccupied with an email, a few simple sentences sent through cyberspace that have the capability to rob him of his sanity, his freedom, and the people he loves most in the world. When he’s called home for a mysterious reason, leaving Layla isn’t ideal, but hope for reconciliation combined with his brother’s secrecy ignites a curiosity he refuses to ignore.

Putting the pain behind them is no longer an option.

To get the answers they need, they must face the past and open up old wounds that threaten to bleed them dry.

The Traveling Man (Traveling #1) by Jane Harvey-Berrick Cover Reveal!!!

Title: The Traveling Man
Series: Traveling #1
Author: Jane Harvey-Berrick
Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 27, 2015

Cover Designer: Hang Le
I was ordinary. Nice. He was extraordinary. And he wasn’t always nice.
Moody and difficult, brilliant and beautiful, Kes scared me and he protected me. He could be incredibly hurtful and incredibly thoughtful. He wasn’t perfect, but he was perfect for me. He challenged me, he took me out of my safe little box and showed me the world could be magnificent. He was everything I wasn’t.

Aimee Anderson is ten when the traveling carnival first comes to her nice little town. She doesn’t expect her world to change so completely. But meeting Kestrel Donohue puts her life on a different path.
Even though she only sees him for the two weeks of the year when he passes through her home town, his friendship is the most important of her life. As a child’s friendship grows to adult love, the choices become harder, and both Kes and Aimee realize that two weeks a year will never be enough.

I started writing contemporary romance two years ago. Before that, I didn’t think I could write a sex scene. Turns out I can!

My lucky number is 13 because I was born on the 13th and live near a haunted castle by the ocean. My number one past-time is watching hot surfers get changed into (and out of) their wetsuits.

My husband doesn’t read my books. My mother does.

Writing is my love, my hobby, my total addiction. All my characters are important to me and whisper their stories, even when I’ve finished writing their books. That’s why you’ll often find bonus chapters/out-takes from various books, because those voices just won’t be quiet.

HOSTED BY:

Raze by Tillie Cole- Review!!

"They were always meant to be together, one boy and one girl, two hearts split into two, sent to far-off lands on their own. For God wanted to see if true love could be tested. He wanted to see if two halves  of one soul could find each other again, even against the odds. Years would pass. They would both be hurt. They would both be sad, but one day, when they least expected it, they would stumble into each other's paths. The question is: would they recognize each other's soul? And would they find their way back to love...?"

First, can we just talk about this cover?!?! I love it. It's intense, dark, and enticing... It's perfect for Raze! Next, let's talk about how talented Tillie Cole is :) I love her and her writing style. I've read most of her books and really enjoy them. I also met her in person back at the Author event in Atlanta this year and she's just as great to talk with in person!

Now, for Raze... Where to begin? We start the book in Boy's hell. It's the beginnings of Razes' 'stay' at the Gulag and his cruel induction into this new world. Throughout the book we learn of the torture Raze experienced while fighting to the death in the Gulag, with only one thing left to be certain of in Raze's mind:

Alik Durov.
Brooklyn, New York.
Revenge.
Kill.

Now, let's talk about Alik and Kisa. Alik and Kisa are engaged, though Kisa seems less than thrilled about it and it seems the marriage is more for the family business than anything. Kisa was Luka's from the time they were children and inseparable, but then Kisa was told Luka did a terrible thing and he was taken away. Since losing Luka, Kisa didn't feel very passionate about anything but Alik made sure to scoop her up. Now, Kisa was his and no one else's, just as Alik had always wanted...

Alik is crazy. Like, seriously. He's a killing machine and is uncontrollable. He's the mafia's number one killer, but no one wants to get on his bad side because no one knows what to expect from him. He is ridiculously possessive over Kisa, and not in the way that all us female readers go, 'awww' about- he takes dominant to a different level, almost soulless. The only time he appears to even show any humanity or feelings of love or remorse is when he's with Kisa and she can calm him.

Do you know where this is going, yet? Raze comes into town, looking for revenge on Alik, although he has no recollection why. He and Alik take an instant disliking to each other, while Raze and Kisa instantly feel connected. Kisa sees something, feels something, in Raze that binds her to him. Upon getting a good look into Raze's eyes, instantly she knows. It's him... It's her soul mate, the one that she thought she'd lost.

Raze can't remember much, but his body knows he knows Kisa in his soul. He slowly starts remembering bits and pieces of his life, before the Gulag, and every memory has Kisa in it. She is the only thing is his life that he knows and he can't be without her. Unfortunately, she doesn't belong to him anymore...

Alik and Raze schedule their fight. Alik goes in, wanting to kill Raze and keep control over Kisa. Raze goes into the fight searching for revenge, but also to to rightfully make Kisa his and protect her. Both will go into to the fight with hate for the other, only one will leave the cage alive.

That's all the details I'm going to give you for this one! If it sounds good, please check it out! I think it was great, my only complaint is I will now have a serious book hangover!

Reclaiming the Sand by A. Meredith Walters Review!

"He was love. He was home. He was forever." -A. Meredith Walters, Chasing the Tide

 Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00071]

***The powerful continuation of the story that began in Reclaiming the Sand- a tale of love and forgiveness and learning to over come a past that has come to define you.*** Bully and Victim Friend and Lover Past and Future Ellie McCallum and Flynn Hendrick’s story was as painful as it was devastating. But they were able to find within each other an unlikely yet beautiful love. Despite the obstacles that tried to keep them apart. And together they rose out of the ashes of their tragic history. Now years after their life changing reunion Ellie is back in Wellston, having just graduated from college and ready to start her future with the man who taught her how to love. However, returning to a town that held so much bitterness and anger was the last place she wanted to start over. But for Flynn, who is now an art professor at the community college and firmly rooted in the place that gave them their beginning, she’d do just about anything. Yet it’s difficult building a life when you’ve only just learned how to live. And love, no matter how strong, doesn’t always conquer all.   Ellie and Flynn must learn how far they are willing to go to stay together. Or whether the ghosts of the past will consume them both.   Because finding a happily ever after is harder than it seems. Particularly when you’re fighting against the one thing that could destroy you.

Time for my thoughts!

To start, I was blessed with an ARC for a honest review. I am so thankful for the ARC and the chance to read and write about another fantastic A. Meredith Walters book! From the moment I finished Find You In The Dark, I knew A. Meredith Walters was one of those authors that I would buy the book first, and read the synopsis later! I truly enjoy her stories. I love that she always brings a depth to her novels. She frequently writes about things I'm passionate about: things related to the mental health field. Ellie and Flynn are no exception. From the first novel Reclaiming the Sand, we learned of Flynn's...challenges.  We also learned of the troubled life Ellie had, and how she's coped through everything she's experienced. Chasing the Tide is a continuation of Ellie and Flynn's story. Ellie finally got out of Wellston, earned a degree, and started to make some positive changes in her life. Then, it was time to return to Flynn. Back to Wellston. Back to the town filled with bad memories, challenging job options, and friends who were never that great for Ellie.

The majority of this book is about Ellie's internal struggle. I feel like we really got a clear picture of Flynn in Reclaiming the Sand. We got an idea of Ellie and her struggles, but Flynn just broke my heart and sealed it back together again in the first book. In this book, the reader really gets the chance to dig deeper into Ellie and look at how much her past effects her present and future. I appreciated the RAD references because in reality, RAD is a very serious diagnosis and would be totally understandable for someone like Ellie, who's lived through what she has, to be diagnosed with that disorder. It definitely effects the person you are, but also effects you relationships, your outlook on life, etc. I feel for Ellie during this book, but I also feel so frustrated with her! I felt like the, "I'm so sick of Wellston" part took a huge chunk of the book. She says over and over again how much she loves Flynn and that's the only reason she's in Wellston- but she never really explained to Flynn that she was unhappy there. Once she said the truth, that she will need adventure a change of scenery once in a while, Flynn said he'd do everything he could to try to manage those changes- which is totally the answer I expected sweet Flynn to give!

I could go on and on about this book, and if I had more time-- I probably would! But alas, it is 1:35AM and I've got an early morning tomorrow. So for now, I'll sign off but heed my advice- A. Meredith Walters is always worth the read. This book was a beautiful addition to Flynn and Ellie's story and I loved it!!

Below is some information about the first book in this wonderful series :)

From the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of Find You in the Dark and Bad Rep comes a story of forgiveness, redemption and finding love in the most unlikely of places.
*THIS IS A STANDALONE WITH NO CLIFFHANGER!*
Bully and victim.
Tormenter and tormented.
Villain and hero.
Ellie McCallum was a bully. No connection to anyone or anything. A sad and lonely existence for a young woman who had come to expect nothing more for herself. Her only happiness coming from making others miserable.
Particularly Freaky Flynn.
Flynn Hendrick lived a life completely disconnected even as he struggled to become something more than that boy with Asperger's. He was taunted and teased, bearing the brunt of systematic and calculated cruelty, ultimately culminating in a catastrophic turn of events that brought Ellie and Flynn’s worlds crashing down.
But then Flynn and Ellie grew up.
And moved on.
Until years later when their paths unexpectedly cross again and the bully and the freak are face to face once more.
When labels come to define you, finding yourself feels impossible. Particularly for two people disconnected from the world who inexplicably find a connection in each other.
And out of the wreckage of their tragic beginnings, an unlikely love story unfolds.
But a painful past doesn’t always want to let go. And old wounds are never truly healed…and sometimes the further you try to run from yourself the closer you come to who you really are.

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary and Paranormal romance including The Find You in the Dark and Bad Rep series as well as the upcoming stand alone romance, Reclaiming the Sand, and a dark new adult series for Gallery Books.

First working at a Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault program and then later a program for children with severe emotional and mental health issues. Heart Recaptured by Tillie Cole-- Review!

"I stared at the girl reflected in the glass and my lip curled in disgust. She was beautiful; flawless golden skin, long blond hair, cornflower blue eyes...a most impressive disguise. The creation of utmost evil."-Tillie Cole, Heart Recaptured

I was generously provided an ARC for an honest review of Heart Recaptured, and I am so happy and proud to provide my review on this 5 star book! I had high hopes for this book since I loved It Ain't Me Babe so much, and this one definitely lived up to and surpassed my expectations. It's hard to find the right words to describe this book. I have been looking for a good MC series to get sucked into, but haven't had much luck...until now. This series is like Sons of Anarchy meets... something that hasn't been created yet (i.e., radical cult life). Regardless, this story line... I think it'd be great just with Hade's Hangmen, but I really enjoy the added aspect of The Order. I enjoy the vast different lifestyles of the two organizations, yet they do have some similarities (though both would deny they had any). Before I get any further, I've got to add in who I'd picture playing Lilah and Ky. Typically, Candace will do this in her reviews, but I'm doing it too this time :)

Here's who reminds me of Lilah...

And here's who reminds me of Ky...

Right? Right. So, Lilah... oh, Lilah. There are so many times I just want to shake her, hug her, laugh with her, and cry for her. Lilah doesn't know anything of the world she's just been thrust into. She knows what she knows and is devout in her beliefs and her religion. It is the only life she's known, it is the life she feels she was born to lead, regardless of the things that have happened to her in her past. She believes she is the cursed, the wicked temptress, that the devil uses her natural gorgeous looks to tempt others into doing unholy things. This creates self-loathing and disgust for Lilah and it just makes your heart hurt for her!

Ky falls right into that trap. From the moment Ky first saw Lilah, his jaw hit the ground. Lilah, in those blue eyes and that blond hair (even in her headress), small waist, and fat lips truly defines the perfect woman for Ky. Not that Ky has ever had any intention of settling down with one old lady. He smokes, he drinks, he parties, he spends quite a bit of time with his lady friends, usually 2 at the time. Little does Ky know how much his world is going to change when he, as 2nd to Styx, goes into that commune to save Mae and her two sisters.

Lilah is intrigued by Ky too, though neither of them want to admit it at the beginning. Ky thinks Lilah is drop dead gorgeous, Lilah thinks Ky is perfectly cut and someone who can and will keep her safe. He's strong, he's a fighter, he's a protector, he's everything she's never known but creates a feeling in her that she's meant to know him more.

Ky is given the task to watch out for Lilah, to teach her about the world on the outside, without touching her. Styx puts a lot of faith in Ky, trying to help him make up for the shaky start Ky had with Lilah. Ky's not thrilled about his new job, especially the no touching part, and neither is Lilah. If it were up to her, she'd just stay locked in the little apartment above the bar, trading one prison for another. But, Ky gets her out and in the world, piece by piece and shows her what life can really be like on the outside...

There's a lot more in this book that I could go into detail about: the how of how the pilgrim girl and Ky became a thing, updates on Styx and Mae, oh and then there's Rider... ahem, Prophet Cane. There's so much to read, so much to love! I strongly encourage you to read this series... it's blood, it's guts, it's glory, it's fear, it's pain, it's loathing, but it is also love. True, gut-wrenching, soul-saving love and it'll totally be worth every minute! Check out the story of Ky and his Sweet Cheeks!

Felix by Elizabeth Reyes!!

Title: Felix (5th Street, #5)
Author: Elizabeth Reyes
Genre: NA | Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 13, 2014
Synopsis

They say the only good thing about hitting rock bottom is that it can't get any worse . . . or can it?

World famous boxing champ, Felix Sanchez, had it all—the fame, the fortune, and all the women any man could ask for. When the hours of partying followed by hours spent in court and in rehab begin to outnumber the hours he spends training, losing his title comes as no surprise to everyone. The world assumes he deserved to lose it.

Only those closest to Felix know the real truth behind his sudden downward spiral. And if Felix has his way, no one else ever will. With an uncertain future ahead of him, he heads back to his roots—5th Street—the gym that started it all for him. It's where he meets the humble but mighty little Ms. Ella.

The only times Felix had ever decided to forgo the usual meaningless fling and try a real relationship he was burned badly. Now the adorable but tenacious self-defense instructor has him considering this love thing one more time.

Then just when he begins to worry that his past is letting his possessive and jaded heart get the best of him, he's blindsided in the most brutal way—he's brought to his knees—to what could be the one low in his life he may never recover from.

Excerpt!

Felix still had his eyes fixed on the impressive "Mighty Little Ms. Ella."
For someone Hector considered typical, she hadn't done even one of the flirtatious things he was so used to from girls: the fluttering lashes, nervous laughs, or even the twirling of her hair in her fingers. She'd looked him square in the eyes without losing her poise even for a second.

~Review Time!~

To begin, I have to thank the wonderfully talented Elizabeth Reyes! I was provided with an ARC of Felix to then provide an honest review. This book was bittersweet for me. It was good, it proved to me (and the rest of the reading world) that Felix could be that great, thoughtful guy that I knew he could be from book one! I have been waiting for this book, especially since Gio. I am 100% Team Gio and Bianca, but man- my heart kinda hurt for Felix! Granted, he didn't do his best on reassuring Bianca and treating her like he has Ella now, but boy was he a romantic and sweetheart deep down! I had a lot of high hopes for this book and expectations after waiting so long for it to come about! I really enjoyed the read, but I also wanted a little bit more. Felix won my heart, hands down in this book. Ella, on the other hand... I just couldn't get behind her. I'm all for the ordinary girl stealing the heart of the badass fighter, but I just didn't buy into her too much. And seriously, if you have FELIX, why keep talking to that jerk, Grayson?! That's probably what bothered me the most. Ella's relationship with Grayson. I mean, I get that he helped Memo. I get that he patrolled her house. Yes, those are great things, things that Ella was very appreciative of, but it doesn't warrant her to keep talking to him on the phone, or seeing him at the gym, when she's in a relationship with someone else, especially someone like Felix! I don't know, it just didn't seem right to me. Grayson wasn't really a good guy, either. It might be different, staying somewhat friends with him, if he was respectful of Ella's relationship, or if he was a good guy. Him yelling at her and flying off the handle at the littlest things... not the type of person I want to be with, or be friends with for that matter. Yes, yes- he came back at the END OF THE BOOK to tell Ella he respects her choice, but come on- by that point, what other option is there?! Ella and Felix had survived something HUGE, together... of course she's going to pick Felix, stay with Felix, love Felix- he's the best thing that has ever happened to her.

Ok, enough bagging on Grayson. We all get the point, right? Thank goodness Ella wasn't dumb and chose him instead! My absolute favorite part of this book was Disney. The first time Felix took Ella to Disney. It just felt like a fairy tale. It felt magical and full of love and wonder. It made me insanely jealous of a situation in a fictional book! It was so thoughtful, loving, and selfless on Felix's part. It was exactly what you want to read about in a book. Ella and Felix went through a lot. They survived a lot. They made a deal and both intended to follow through.

Pick up your copy soon! <3
