Review:
I am so freaking sad this series is over!! JEM, you and your bad boys always have a way of locking me in to a story and these unlawful men were no different! The American was a perfect ending to a perfectly imperfect series. I loved Brad’s story. I’ve been so curious about him through the earlier books in this story and it was so good to get to know him more and see if he could find his happy ending. There were twists and turns in this story that I truly never would’ve even thought about and I love that! The writing in this story had me locked in, really feeling like I was a part of the story unfolding on these pages and desperate to find out what happens next. There were so many great Easter eggs in this story and I LOVED getting to continue hearing parts of the story from all of the favorite characters, not just Brad and Pearl. The American really did pull together and perfectly end this long, complicated story of a family of misfits that you can’t help but love. Of course this book was full of action, fighting, drugs, weapons, general mafia/bad boy behavior, but it was also full of love, passion, family and sacrifice. There are not many series where I can truly say I loved each book and each couple from each book just as much as the last in the series, but that really is the true with this one. I feel like I’m going to be stuck in a book hangover after finishing this one and not ready to move on to anything for a while. I have so loved this series and JEM’s insane ability to write characters that make you crazy but also make you love them even more. I’ve always been a fan JEM and this book, this series, just made me love you more. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next because I know it will be just as good. In the meantime, we’ll just miss these unlawful men and the women who saved them. Over and out <3
