Review:

A.L. Jackson has done it again! Every book I read by her draws me in in one way or another. Love Me Today is no exception to that and I am so excited for the start of a new series to love!

This book is set in a small town in Colorado (mostly) full of characters that are impossible not to love! One of the things I love about a small town romance is more often than not, it’s more than just the male and female lead you fall in love with. It’s the whole family, the whole group that belongs together in this magical place. Don’t get me wrong- Paisley and Caleb were the stars of the show (apart from Evelyn, no one could love anyone more than her!) hands down, but I also loved that Mrs. Jackson has such a way in encouraging us to fall in love with so many other characters too like Dakota, Ryder, Ezra, and Grandpa! The character development of this story is so good and it’s paced so perfectly with the story line. As we learn more and more about these characters, we fall more and more for them and hope for the best in whatever way that can look.

There was so much I wanted to see happen for Caleb, Evelyn, and Paisley. They’ve all been through so much and all deserve a happy ending, but will they be able to survive if they pursue it? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering what the next twist or turn will be while also slowly giving you hope for something more! Evelyn will melt your heart into a million pieces. Paisley will make you smile and pull for her so similarly to the way she champions those she loves. Caleb will frustrate you to no end but also make you want to shake him to let him know it’s ok and he deserves love too. Ah, this story was just so good. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this book and I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series to come out. I have no idea who it will be about, but I am equally as excited for whoever it could be if it’s one we met in this story! Thank you for such a great book, Mrs. Jackson and I can’t wait to read more!!

Review:

This book was just what I needed! RVD has such a way of writing a story that can make you laugh, cry, and experience all sorts of other emotions within a chapter or two! The characters in this book, especially Scarlett, go through some really crappy things but with Rachel’s writing and intention for this story, she easily takes something that could be tragic and turns it into a comedy! I love that there were real emotions you feel reading this book but an overall theme of laughter. There are so many books I’ve read lately that are dark and serious and filled with the worst of things and don’t get me wrong, I love those books too, but honestly this story was exactly what i needed right now. It was a breath of fresh air. It was a romantic comedy on the Max Emory level if you’re a lover of all things RVD like me, and Max is hard to tie or beat. I loved the little Easter eggs we got with characters we’ve met before. I thought Dustin’s character was hilarious. I am a big fan of Adrian and truly hope we get to see him again in the future, would even love a whole book about him and finding his happy ending. Addison was truly the worst (& Rob) and I will be happy to never read about her again. Scarlett is an angel in my opinion for dealing with the hate she had to from her own sister and still being the bigger person! Speaking of Scarlett though, I just loved her. I love that she wears her heart on her sleeve. I love that she feels things so strongly. She can be a bit of a mess, but can’t we all?! 😂 And I can’t talk about Scarlett without talking about Killian! The way he just jumped in to immediately help her, the way he’s willing to stand in when he’s needed, gah-he just melts your heart! And then you find out more about his story, and love him even more! Anyway, while this book will definitely leave you laughing out loud (which I LOVE), it also connects with your emotions in a truly wonderful way and I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this book. Thank you RVD for the book we all needed right now. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Review:

Gah, this book! Let me tell you- I fell in love with this Hartley crew hard during the first book of this series, Whispers of You. Holt and Wren’s story hooked me from the very beginning and didn’t let me loose at all. I loved Holt (and obviously Wren) in book one so much, but we got a few glimpses of Nash in that book that just had me jonesing for his own story. I was so intrigued and so looking forward to diving deeper into his character and his seemingly long lost love, Maddie. I anxiously awaited the release of this book, knowing I would finally get the Nash/Maddie story I so desperately needed, and it DID NOT disappoint!! 

Echoes of You was everything I hoped it would be. There is the small town feel that Catherine Cowles is so adept at writing that makes you long to live in a place like Cedar Ridge. There is the beautiful scenery you can easily picture in your mind with a few typed words from her. There is the level of suspense, intrigue, mystery and angst that you can always expect from her books, that will always make the pages turn quickly for me! And then there are the characters that just make you SWOON. Nash Hartley is that character. How could a girl not love this guy?! He has been devoted to Maddie, her protector and her friend, since they were in Kindergarten. He has been the friend she’s always needed whether they were near or far apart. He’s been seen as the joker to his family and friends in the community, but Maddie has always seen him for the man he really is. And Maddie- how could you not love her too?! My heart broke for her in so many ways in the horrible situations she’s been dealt in her life. It’s amazing how she perseveres and continues to look for the good, despite all the wrongdoing she’s faced. These two characters are truly two of my favorites Catherine has ever written about and that’s saying a lot because I am a huge fan of all of Catherine’s writing (truly never thought anyone would ever be in the running for number one spot with Crosby from Perfect Wreckage). I don’t want to go into too many details of this particular book because I don’t want any spoilers for you, but I hope this review has given you a glimpse of what to expect from the book and/or prepare you for feelings you may have reading it!

I highly, highly recommend this story and hope you’ll take the time to read it! I’ll be sitting in this book hangover for a little while I think.

How much did I love this story? “More than I thought possible” and then some! 

It’s just so good. I cannot wait for Grae and Caden’s story next, though I have to be honest and say I can’t imagine it being better than this one was because this one was just perfection. Go read it!

Review:

I knew this book was going to be incredible and I am so glad my prediction was correct! I was so sad when the Adair family series ended and was afraid I’d have to leave a family I fell in love with and a setting (looking at you, gorgeous Scottish Highlands) I fell in love with behind. While this book was mostly focused on the two main characters Sloane and Walker, I also got to continue my love affair with the Adairs, Scotland, and Samantha Young’s incredible storytelling! 

This book can easily be read as a stand-alone and the start of a brand new incredible series, but if you’re looking for several books to get hooked on- I highly recommend reading the Adair series first! It’ll help you know the supporting characters throughout this story and you’ll be delighted to see the updates in those characters’ lives too!

 However, I have to spill about my love for Walker and Sloane at this point! OMG, does Samantha Young know how to write a book filled with drama, suspense, a broody man you can’t help but fall for and a bada** female lead! Sloane and Walker’s story was everything I hoped for! On the outside, Sloane appears quiet and reserved but when you really get to know her, she’s quite the firecracker! She’s fiercely protective of her daughter, she knows what she wants and she isn’t afraid to go after it no matter how many obstacles stand in her way! She’s also very well versed in making men fall for her by way of their stomachs and her incredible desserts! Walker is the strong but silent type. He’s moody and broody and keeps to himself, but has a heart of gold and when he feels someone he cares about is threatened, he will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Gah, I love a character like Walker. I love when a male character starts off stand-offish and broody and by the end, we’ve been able to peel back a few layers to see the real guts on the inside! Sometimes they are great, sometimes they aren’t, but I’ll tell you this- Walker Ironside is one you want to get to know! “Walker’s like a Mento. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside.” 😂 

There are so many things I loved about this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering when the next shoe was going to drop and from where and/or who. It kept me wondering how it will all end for the main characters. The end of this book was all that I hoped for and ended how I needed this book to end. Overall, I am such a fan of this story, of what I’m sure will be this whole series, and of Samantha Young’s writing in general overall! Another incredible story, thank you Ms. Young!
