Every time I finish a book in this series, I claim to have a new favorite. That’s no different now with Maksim’s story. I was enthralled with this book. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen and how it was going to play out. I wanted to shake him and shove him and slap him and hug him so tight all at the same time. There were so many times in this book that I wanted to scream “let them love you!” At the same time, I understood. I understood the fear, the uncertainty, the need to protect those you love the most, even if they may not like it. There is a theme in all of these books that circles around protection and love. Family. Sacrifice. This story had even more. It made my heart hurt and made my heart soar. I loved it. I can’t wait for King’s story though I have no idea how RVD will top this one. 🖤
