Y’all, this book is hot, hot, hot! 🔥🔥🔥 If you are looking for a steamy, spicy romance with some characters you can’t help but fall in love with… this is your next book! I’m a frequent flier when it comes to Marni Mann books so I already knew I would love this story too. I loved Jenner, especially. We’re introduced to him earlier in this series (though this can definitely be read as a stand alone) and I couldn’t wait to hear his story. Who doesn’t love when a playboy finds his match?! I also loved Jo’s character. She is a take charge, confident, smart and talented woman who goes after what she wants, and that’s at age 22! I only wish I had half the confidence she does when I was 22 😍 Overall, I really enjoyed Jenner and Jo’s story. A little over half way into the book threw me for a loop I was completely not expecting but it made me have to finish the book in that sitting! I hope you’ll take the chance on this one, and if you do- grab a fan! 🔥

REVIEW:

If you’ve read anything by Marni Mann before, you know that she can write an incredible story. It doesn’t matter if it’s something super serious and traumatic or if it’s something a little lighter and a whole lot steamier. The Lawyer is a lighter read compared to some of her other stories and very steamy and still incredibly well written!

Kendall, our female lead, may be the sweetest character I’ve read. She is kind, loving, welcomes anyone and everyone, allowed herself to be treated way worse than she should for the love of family, and just overall loves fiercely. She's the girl everyone cheers for and wants to succeed... unless you're just evil. Even evil things Kendall can see redemption in, though. 

Dominick doesn’t want love. He’s happy where he is. He is large and in charge; happily living as the playboy lawyer to all of Hollywood’s elite. He stumbles upon Kendall one night at a party though and all bets are off. His heart keeps pulling him towards her even though his head says no. When he lets his heart take the lead though? No woman could resist his heart, his strength, his need to protect, his dedication, etc etc etc. The man brings the passion to this book and boy is it a doozy! 

 

This story was so good! There were elements of surprise, drama, good clean fun, fire and passion, as well as sweet, sweet love. I loved it and can’t wait to read the next story from Marni!

REVIEW:

This book, y’all. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to be able to read it. I’ve fallen in love for forever with Trent and Eden. The book carried so much passion, angst, love, drama, good feelings, broken feelings, frustrated feelings, and all the feelings in between! Let’s just say I was really in my feels during this whole freaking book!

Trent and Eden are incredibly well written characters. They felt like real friends’ lives you were watching unfold. 

One thing I loved most about the book is  after Eden decides for herself what she wants, she fully and completely goes after it. She doesn’t have a shred of concern for anyone else’s questions or potential judgment. She is fierce and strong and it was a slow burn for me on how much I fell for her as the heroine but once she committed (even just in her mind), I fell leaps and bounds for her. She’s the type of woman you look at and feel envious of because she’s obviously beautiful but also just so…sure. She’s sure of her feelings, of her wants, her desires, and no one is going to stand in her way. I freaking loved her. Until I wanted to shake her. Until she questioned it. But I understood. How could she not? Grief does things to a person. Then I realized in a great big way how much of a bad a** she was and I still loved her for all the reasons I listed before!

And then there’s Trent. Lawd, y’all. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The man stole my heart, the way only a great fictional hero can. He’s overcome so much, been through so much, done so much, somehow lacks confidence but isn’t insecure. He just needs someone to show him he’s worthy, he’s good, he’s worth the risk. He’s a man so of course there’s times throughout the book I roll my eyes and wonder how dumb he can be, but then… he pulls on those freaking heart strings again and your heart breaks for him and falls in love with him again all over. Oh my goodness and watching him with Gage?! 😭❤️

And that twist?!? Oh. My. Gosh. I didn’t see it coming. I usually pride myself on my ability to “see it coming” but this one… got me all twisted up inside! So many mixed feelings. So many reactions! Just so…much! 

It was so good. So freaking good. I cannot wait for Jud (especially) and Logan’s stories.

Thank Oh and that epilogue?! Perfection!
