Review:

What a treat it is to be back in Moonlit Ridge! The men of Soverign Sanctum will forever hold a special place in my heart because while they may have to do some not so great things, they do them with the purest of intentions and a love in their heart stronger than most people. Kane and Emery’s story was no different! Kane, to me, felt like he owned his feelings a little quicker than some of the other guys in the group have but I liked that! I especially enjoyed the chapters of this book where we got to see young Kane develop and live the life that led him to the man he is today. I feel like those chapters really helped his character development and really made me champion him more and hope for a happy ending for him. With Emery, I felt she was much more guarded and wavered way more with her next steps but again- totally understandable! I can’t imagine how I would live my life if I made it through the things her character has. I felt her emotional turmoil through the book, the push and pull between her mind and body, what she thought was right and what she felt in her soul was right. Kane and Emery’s characters were so well matched for each other and I love the story A.L. Jackson wrote for them. My most favorite character of this book has to be sweet little Maci, though! Omg I just want to reach through this book and snuggle her, twirl her, and give her all the giggles in the world. She seems like the brightest little light and I loved every mention of her, and loved getting to see her and sweet little Nolan playing together so much. 

Overall, I enjoyed this book! I love the fictional family that is Soverign Sanctum and will always look forward to a new addition to their book family! I will say the spice level was pretty high in this one so just be forewarned lol but still really enjoyed the characters! Super excited for the next book, not only because I look forward to learning about Theo but I’m thrilled for Raven’s next chapter too!

Review:

I knew the RVD angst would come and it had me in its CLUTCHES by the end of this book!! 

Honestly, I did not know what to expect for this story. I knew it was Raven’s story, a daughter of our beloved Eagle Elite mafia family; but truthfully, she didn’t stand out to me much in previous books so I didn’t know if I would feel very connected to her or this book. That concern got cleared up pretty quickly, though! While I may not have gone in to this book knowing too much about her character, I’ve realized now that she’s one I am so glad I got to read and learn more about. She seems like one of the most real, most approachable, most normal characters there could be in a mafia family and I love her. She truly goes on quite the merry go round of emotions through this book, but through it all she stays strong, steady, and determined to make sure she and those she loves will be okay.

I can’t mention strong and determined without mentioning our main man Ace, though. Omg! RVD sure has a way of creating a mafia man you can’t help but love 😂 Talk about a character with some character… sure there are some parts where he’s a bit of a jerk and says or does things he maybe shouldn’t, but who can blame him?! The guy has taken on more than many other men would and does it all out of loyalty, love, devotion, even while his own heart crumbles farther and farther apart. 

Ugh, the last 20% of this book especially just takes you on a wild ride with ups and downs, all around! There were parts I caught myself actually holding my breath while reading and other parts where I held my hand on my chest to try to slow my racing heart from all the ANGST. I can honestly say I would not have been that excited about Tempest’s story before reading this one (apart from the fact that I obviously would’ve read it because I just love this mafia family too much not to), but now I will be biting at the bit for it to come out. I am so looking forward to learning more about her and finding out where this crazy train is going that was the end of this book!!

Review:

What a journey!! From Nowhere takes the reader on quite a whirlwind trip through many of life’s highs and lows with some of the saddest things you can imagine as well as the sweetest, most thoughtful, happiest things you can think of. This review isn’t really going to be about the storyline because I want you to experience that for yourself.

This review is going to be about the people of this book, though. The characters in this book really made me fall in love with it. Ozzy, Lola, and Maren will live rent free in my head for a while and I won’t be sorry about that!

Ozzy may very well be the most romantic male lead I’ve read in a book in a long time, and the best part is he doesn’t even realize he’s so swoon worthy. It’s just the way he is. He is an incredible, patient father and truly one of my favorite male book characters now. He loves his daughter Lola so well, he treats everyone he knows with kindness, he’s passionate, thoughtful, funny, handy, and devoted. There’s one part of the book where he makes some decisions that made me want to scream, but I also understood why he made them. 

Maren may be one of my favorite female characters, too. She is a strong, fierce female pilot who loves hard and braves all the dangerous, scary things. When Maren decides what she wants, she is all in for it. She knows what she wants and goes for it every time. She has a heart of gold and seems like she would be someone you know your life would be better for because she’s in your corner. 

Their story is a messy one. There are so many hurts in this book it can tear at your heart strings. But there’s hope and light and love, too. I hope you’ll take the chance to read it!

P.S. the ending is something I never would’ve expected to love but felt it was epic and perfect for this story!

Ahh, I am in my feels after this one. From the minute I found out we’d be getting a little more Joss and Braden, I was excited! This book was everything I hoped for and more. I read On Dublin Street back in 2013 (wow, can’t believe it was over 10 years ago!) but I still remember it well and loved being back in that world with those characters again. Plus the incredible addition of Callan and Beth! Beth is exactly what I would expect and hope for as the oldest daughter Carmichael daughter. She is fiery, strong, successful, and kind beyond measure. She is the type of woman you can’t help but be friends with and she would be the best, most encouraging friend to have in your corner. She’s the only one who doesn’t seem to seem how much of a gem she really is. Callan does, though- much to his frustration at the beginning of the book! Speaking of Callan… upon first introduction, he’s quite the opposite of Beth. He’s the type of guy you might not want to keep around, but not to worry, he wouldn’t want anything more than one night anyway. It’s upon further inspection though, he’s only the way he is because of his experiences as an adolescent/teen and you can’t really blame him for that. In fact, those experiences really just make you want to read through the pages of this book and give him a big old hug. Honestly, I was team Callan all along and just hoped he’d get a well deserved happy ending at the end of the day! 

Anyway, I don’t want to go into too many details of this book because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. Just know, Beth and Callan are two characters you don’t want to miss out on. Their story is complex, heartfelt and one I won’t forget about for a long while. Thank you for another incredibly well written story Samantha Young! I cannot wait to see what comes next for these new characters you’ve created!

Review:

 A moonflower and a burly bear… the perfect match.

Y’all, I have to admit, I love this fictional world AL has created for us. She always has this perfect ability of painting the best picture of what this small town looks like and how all these perfectly imperfect people fit into it. I want to have coffee at the local coffee shop. I imagine how gorgeous Raven’s bouquets of flowers are. I can see Charleigh checking the neighbor’s vitals at Doc’s office. The imagery of this book, of this whole series, and Redemption Hills is just… perfection. Each of her stories in both of these series always brings a thrill, a suspense, but always in a unique, exciting way. I have to admit, I had an inkling of who may have been involved in the who’s the villain part of this book but the story was so well written, it still kept me guessing and waiting until the very end to see how it was all going to play out. 

I also have to admit I love the added drama of a, “we shouldn’t do this for a million reasons, but especially because I promised your super protective(with good reason) big brother I wouldn’t” love story but oh it was so good. Raven and Otto… forbidden for sure, but can anyone stop fate?

Ah. I am such a fan of all of AL Jackson’s writing but I especially enjoyed this book, this series, this world. I don’t want to leave Raven and Otto behind but boy oh boy am I excited for Kane’s story next!!

Review:

What an interesting read to start the new year with!! I finished 2024 and started 2025 with Visions of Darkness and it’s really symbolic in a way! In one way, the story felt done, but is it ever really over? Especially not with that last chapter! Not to mention, AL Jackson has an incredible way of making you need to know more about any story she writes! This was her first foray into the fantasy world but I thought it was incredible. I loved the imagery of Tearsith and Faydor. I could truly feel myself in those places as I read along the story. I loved the element of magic and the slight difference from other romantasy stories! I’m obsessed with Pax and his absolute devotion for Aria. I loved her strength and her FIGHT. Overall, I just really enjoyed this story and am SO ready for whatever is next for this couple because I, like they, know that whatever comes their way, they’ll be able to handle together!!
