Theo and Piper’s story brings all the emotions to the forefront reading their story and I was anxious to turn each page to feel every bit of it. Honestly, I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in the Moonlit Ridge series and this book was on par with all the others.  I love a redemptive love story. Both Theo and Piper have things in their past that won’t allow them to believe they deserve a happily ever after and to be able to change either of their minds would take an act of God, by way of irresistible soul mate. They both have walls sky high and the idea of anyone penetrating them is abhorrent to both of them. They have more similarities to each other than they even realize. One of my favorite similarities they have is they both have incredible families! Piper has her absolutely adorable owl loving, happy hearted 2 year old son Finn and her funny, loving, quippy grandmother, Nelly Belly. I love both of these characters and honestly loved any part of the book they were in. Finn will absolutely make you want to reach through the book and give him a great big hug! Theo’s family consists of his Sovereign Sanctum crew and each of their families we’ve already fallen in love with if you’ve read the previous books! Gah, this guys look and sound so rough and tough on the outside but their loyalty to their mission and the fierceness in the way they protect those they love is just… unmatched! I think because I’ve had a few books to get to know Theo before his story came it has made me champion him more and more for him to hopefully have his happy ending one day.  I’m so glad I read this book. It is SPICY but you can easily feel the passion between these characters. You can also easily feel all of their other emotions too. There is drama, suspense, sadness, excitement and joy. This story will stay with me for a while! Although, now that I’ve gotten to read Theo’s story and loved it, I already have Cash on my mind and my hopes set high for him! Can’t wait for the next book! Review:

What a journey this book takes you on! I could not put this book down because I just needed to know how it was all going to play out, especially for our favorite homemaker. I’ll admit, I went into this book completely sold on the book cover and title alone and I’m so glad I did! It did not end up being anything like I expected and I love that. I should’ve known better to have any expectation of what the story would be because Jewel E Ann always leaves me guessing and on the edge of my seat to see which twists and turns her characters are going to fall down. She is such a talented writer that I know I’m going to love her stories no matter what they end up being about. I do have to mention though, I felt morally convicted throughout this book and that is not always my favorite thing to feel when reading is supposed to be a light hearted, stress relieving hobby for me. There’s a trope in this book that I don’t love and don’t often read because it’s not something I enjoy. However, in the case of these characters, I could really feel the struggle of their emotions and related to that in a way I usually don’t. These characters are so complex and you want to see this story end in a good way for them all but throughout the book are convinced there is no way that could ever happen. It’s a journey, I tell you!! Overall, I am happy with the way the story ended but I still find myself cautiously happy because I’m not sure I like the way we got here. However, this is a story that will stick with me and something I am so glad I read! Thank you for another new incredible story Jewel E Ann and I am SO curious what/who the next book in this series is going to be about!!

Review:

Y’all. This Southern girl wishes she were Scottish every single time I finish a Samantha Young book. Not only is she just a phenomenal storyteller, she just has this uncanny ability to paint scenes so vividly it is easy to see the picture in your mind and imagine you are right there with the characters, witnessing the story in real time. Edinburgh has definitely jumped to the top of my bucket list on places to go.

While that definitely has to do with the beautiful Scotland scenery painted so well by Ms. Young, it also probably has to do with two new fictional characters I’ve fallen in love with 😂 

I can honestly say I don’t know if I’ve read a female lead character I can relate to more than Lily. For example: my master’s degree is very similar to what Lily’s professional goals for herself are, I’ve been chronically cheated on by jerks in my past, have struggled horribly with self esteem issues and having any confidence. One big thing we share though (thankfully) is an incredible man in our lives who lift us up and tell us we are beautiful when we feel anything but. So, to say I have over identified with this story may not be a stretch LOL. However, I think that makes me love it even more! I love the journey Lily goes through just with herself through this book. She learns to love herself more and more through this book, with the encouragement of her friends, especially Sebastian. 

Speaking of Sebastian… what a dreamboat. He’s the biggest commitment phobe in the world, but I also understand his reasons or more specifically why they make sense to him. He seems like the most solid, comforting, encouraging person you could be lucky enough to have in your life. When he loves, friends or family, he loves hard. He wants others to be happy even at the expense of himself.

Throughout the book you’re left to wonder how things will end with these two characters. Will they or won’t they? Can they allow themselves to get through their own issues to find what their hearts really desire? Even if they do, will they end up self sabotaging everything? Ah, the last half of this book especially was such a page turner. I couldn’t wait for every chance I had to read more. Thank you to Samantha Young for this wonderful book and I cannot wait to read more in this series. Please let Baird’s story be next!

Review:

What a treat it is to be back in Moonlit Ridge! The men of Soverign Sanctum will forever hold a special place in my heart because while they may have to do some not so great things, they do them with the purest of intentions and a love in their heart stronger than most people. Kane and Emery’s story was no different! Kane, to me, felt like he owned his feelings a little quicker than some of the other guys in the group have but I liked that! I especially enjoyed the chapters of this book where we got to see young Kane develop and live the life that led him to the man he is today. I feel like those chapters really helped his character development and really made me champion him more and hope for a happy ending for him. With Emery, I felt she was much more guarded and wavered way more with her next steps but again- totally understandable! I can’t imagine how I would live my life if I made it through the things her character has. I felt her emotional turmoil through the book, the push and pull between her mind and body, what she thought was right and what she felt in her soul was right. Kane and Emery’s characters were so well matched for each other and I love the story A.L. Jackson wrote for them. My most favorite character of this book has to be sweet little Maci, though! Omg I just want to reach through this book and snuggle her, twirl her, and give her all the giggles in the world. She seems like the brightest little light and I loved every mention of her, and loved getting to see her and sweet little Nolan playing together so much. 

Overall, I enjoyed this book! I love the fictional family that is Soverign Sanctum and will always look forward to a new addition to their book family! I will say the spice level was pretty high in this one so just be forewarned lol but still really enjoyed the characters! Super excited for the next book, not only because I look forward to learning about Theo but I’m thrilled for Raven’s next chapter too!

Review:

I knew the RVD angst would come and it had me in its CLUTCHES by the end of this book!! 

Honestly, I did not know what to expect for this story. I knew it was Raven’s story, a daughter of our beloved Eagle Elite mafia family; but truthfully, she didn’t stand out to me much in previous books so I didn’t know if I would feel very connected to her or this book. That concern got cleared up pretty quickly, though! While I may not have gone in to this book knowing too much about her character, I’ve realized now that she’s one I am so glad I got to read and learn more about. She seems like one of the most real, most approachable, most normal characters there could be in a mafia family and I love her. She truly goes on quite the merry go round of emotions through this book, but through it all she stays strong, steady, and determined to make sure she and those she loves will be okay.

I can’t mention strong and determined without mentioning our main man Ace, though. Omg! RVD sure has a way of creating a mafia man you can’t help but love 😂 Talk about a character with some character… sure there are some parts where he’s a bit of a jerk and says or does things he maybe shouldn’t, but who can blame him?! The guy has taken on more than many other men would and does it all out of loyalty, love, devotion, even while his own heart crumbles farther and farther apart. 

Ugh, the last 20% of this book especially just takes you on a wild ride with ups and downs, all around! There were parts I caught myself actually holding my breath while reading and other parts where I held my hand on my chest to try to slow my racing heart from all the ANGST. I can honestly say I would not have been that excited about Tempest’s story before reading this one (apart from the fact that I obviously would’ve read it because I just love this mafia family too much not to), but now I will be biting at the bit for it to come out. I am so looking forward to learning more about her and finding out where this crazy train is going that was the end of this book!!
