Review:

I knew this book was going to be incredible and I am so glad my prediction was correct! I was so sad when the Adair family series ended and was afraid I’d have to leave a family I fell in love with and a setting (looking at you, gorgeous Scottish Highlands) I fell in love with behind. While this book was mostly focused on the two main characters Sloane and Walker, I also got to continue my love affair with the Adairs, Scotland, and Samantha Young’s incredible storytelling! 

This book can easily be read as a stand-alone and the start of a brand new incredible series, but if you’re looking for several books to get hooked on- I highly recommend reading the Adair series first! It’ll help you know the supporting characters throughout this story and you’ll be delighted to see the updates in those characters’ lives too!

 However, I have to spill about my love for Walker and Sloane at this point! OMG, does Samantha Young know how to write a book filled with drama, suspense, a broody man you can’t help but fall for and a bada** female lead! Sloane and Walker’s story was everything I hoped for! On the outside, Sloane appears quiet and reserved but when you really get to know her, she’s quite the firecracker! She’s fiercely protective of her daughter, she knows what she wants and she isn’t afraid to go after it no matter how many obstacles stand in her way! She’s also very well versed in making men fall for her by way of their stomachs and her incredible desserts! Walker is the strong but silent type. He’s moody and broody and keeps to himself, but has a heart of gold and when he feels someone he cares about is threatened, he will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Gah, I love a character like Walker. I love when a male character starts off stand-offish and broody and by the end, we’ve been able to peel back a few layers to see the real guts on the inside! Sometimes they are great, sometimes they aren’t, but I’ll tell you this- Walker Ironside is one you want to get to know! “Walker’s like a Mento. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside.” 😂 

There are so many things I loved about this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering when the next shoe was going to drop and from where and/or who. It kept me wondering how it will all end for the main characters. The end of this book was all that I hoped for and ended how I needed this book to end. Overall, I am such a fan of this story, of what I’m sure will be this whole series, and of Samantha Young’s writing in general overall! Another incredible story, thank you Ms. Young!

Oh my goodness, Claire Contreras did it again!! She has such an incredible way of writing books that stir so many different emotions in these fictional worlds! This book was par for the course in that regard. I felt happy, sad, mad, confused, excited, anxious, and so many other ways in reading this story! 

Because I’m Yours is set in the fictional mafia world of the La Cosa Nostra. It is the 4th book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. I have read the entire series though and would highly recommend reading it all as you get to see bits and pieces of other couples you have fallen in love with in earlier books in this book and I can promise that will make your heart happy! 

It was easy to fall in love both with Rocco and Lenora, the two main characters in this story. Lenora just made my heart hurt for the horrible situation she was put in, but I loved her fire, I loved her spirit, I loved her moxy. She was not going to go down without a fight or at least be able to make some of her own choices regardless of what others wanted her to do! Rocco is the type of man who takes care of business, no matter what the business is. He seems like he’s worked on himself and has such a good attitude, trying to keep the laughs happening often and choosing each day to find the happiness in life, despite having a job that doesn’t necessarily encourage either of those things! The passion between these two is next level and there was definitely a time or two where a little fanning of my red cheeks was needed! I love the family (well, most!) aspect of this book and the friends who are family. And the very end of this book?! So good in so many ways! The big gift at the end took the cake for me though, Rocco brought the tears with that one!! Overall, I really enjoyed this story and hope you’ll take the time to read it too!

Review:

This short story was a great little breath of fresh air. It was a quick read, but the storyline was full and had characters that you fell for within its short few pages! Shelby Lyn is the type of girl you can easily imagine yourself becoming best friends with. Wilder is the guy who got away but was so good you could never give your heart to another. I loved this little small town atmosphere with everyone knowing everyone’s business in good ways and bad. I loved Shelby’s self made wreath business and Wilder’s readiness to come back home and make a difference in his small town, while also winning over the girl he had to leave behind. Overall, I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading Missy’s story next!! I also loved her as a friend and can’t wait to find out what happens with her and Charlie!

I don’t remember a time lately where I have been so invested, so excited, so ready to read part two of a series. I finished the first book in this series and all but begged Jewel E Ann to release this book ASAP because I so desperately needed to know what happens next. Now I know what happens next… and I’m a little speechless! This book was everything I hoped it would be and nothing I expected it to be all in one marvelous, quirky package. I don’t know how to write a review with all my thoughts and feelings on this story because there’s no way I am going to spoil it for anyone as I have deemed it a MUST READ but I’ll try to sum up my feelings the best way I can. Josie freaking broke my heart in this book. Colten revived it. Reagan made it feel warm and fuzzy. Savannah and Isaac made me want to hug them. Let’s add Becca to the hugging party. This book was filled with so many emotions and so many twists and turns. At one point I thought I had an idea of what may happen. Then I realized I had no idea what was going to happen. And then I realized there’s no way I’ll ever predict what’s going to happen by the end! A mark of a great book for me is on the truly keeps me on the edge of my seat, unable to disengage to do normal life things, because you just have to know what happens next. This was that book for me. Thank you Jewel E Ann for another incredible story. You are an amazing storyteller and I cannot wait for whatever story comes next!

Omg!!! That ending!!!

 This book… I’m a little speechless right now, so hopefully I can get my brain to cooperate and formulate some words! 

I have read books by Jewel E Ann before and loved them. She’s an incredible writer. She writes complex characters and builds great worlds with incredible storytelling. This book is definitely no exception. Colten and Josie are going to stick with me for a while, and that’s with only reading half of their duet so far! I love having the back story of their childhood together. I love the snippets of memories of then and now. I am desperate to know more about each of them and their times apart. I need to know especially more about Josie and why she is the way she is. 

I have so many mixed feelings about young Colten but adult Colten… I’m here for. I love his dedication. I love that he’s her ride or die, no matter what. 

The first half of this book was good. I was entertained. I enjoyed the childhood friendship between the two characters and the ‘what do we do now’ thing that happened after their reunion. 

But the last half of this book… omg. I couldn’t stop reading.  It’s suspenseful, dramatic, creepy, engaging, so many different things. 

I’ll finish my review by saying I am on THE EDGE of my seat (and maybe my sanity LOL) waiting for the next part of their story to come out. 

I need it now.

Review:

OMG! That ending!! I’ve looked forward to every new book in this series, but with that ending… I’m going to need Hayes’ story right about now, Mrs. Salsbury!!! I’m both shocked and ecstatic about being so excited to read Hayes’ book as he is easily one of those characters that you can’t stand, but I also know JB will find a way to redeem him in the reader’s eyes.

Anyway, enough about Hades. Can we talk about Hudson and Lillian?! What a perfect match! I love everything about Hudson. I’m a sucker for a savior, probably because I just love when a man loves his woman and wants/needs to do everything he can to protect her. Yes, please! And I adore Lillian. I love her quirkiness and I love that she starts to own her ADHD and quirks towards the end. I also LOVE the collaboration that comes later in the book for her, her new job is an absolute best case scenario that I didn’t even consider but now just freaking love. I love Hudson and Lily’s relationship. I love when she gets past her insecurities and Hudson can admit to himself how he really feels. The only thing I feel like I’m missing with this book is more on how things ended up with Lily and her family. We know that she continues a relationship with Aaron even though he seems like a succubus, I just wonder what happened from the time she threw everything in the apartment at him to make him get out, to then her celebration party towards the end. I’ll likely never know but I had this thought and I felt Lily would appreciate me randomly inserting this thought into this review!

Moving on… I also of course loved getting to see the other North brothers and their partners that I’ve also previously fallen in love with. There was so much good in this book. It was a perfect installation into the North Brothers series and up to par with how fantastic the other books have been. I finished this book with a big smile on my face and also so many questions for the next story. I can’t wait!!

What a great addition to the Adair family series! I have been so curious about Eredine since she was first introduced early on in the series. She’s always seemed so quiet, so reserved, keeping most of her life private so as to possibly hide a scary past, but I’ve also always thought of her as so strong. This book just proved that for me. While all the leading ladies in each story in the Adair family series is amazing and strong, Ery really just spoke to me in this story. She’s a warrior. She may not think she is, she may struggle with dealing with her past, have struggles with anxiety and panic, but damn can she hold her own and don’t you dare try to treat her like glass. I just love her. I also can’t mention how much I love her without mentioning Arran Adair. I’ve been curious about him too in the other stories. He was always the wild child wanderer of the family but I love seeing the transformation that occurs for him. I love the growth of both of these characters. I just love the whole Adair family. Samantha Young has done such an incredible job of storytelling in this series that it is easy to picture yourself at Ardnoch, amongst the Adairs, and the life they lead. The world building of this story and all the stories in this series is phenomenal, and I didn’t want to stop reading. There’s so much action that you’re locked in every page. Thank you for another great story, Ms. Young! I cannot wait for Bro’s story!!
