Fix You: Books 1-3 by Christine Bell - Review

I read all three of these books in one day. This isn't a long drawn out series, it's short, sweet and has its hot moments. I wish there was a little more with the ex-boyfriend, but I like confrontation in my books so to each their own!

Olivia is your average college student who wants to conquer the world yet has so many issues with her family and with her oh so lovely boyfriend that she struggles to get through each day with a smile on her face. Then she meets Bash, who helps her out when her shitty boyfriend somewhat assaults her in a bathroom of the club he works at. I wanted so much more in that particular scene but whatever moving on. This is where Bash and Olivia kind of find themselves tangled in a very complicated web. Olivia's boyfriend gets Bash fired from his job at the club and of course Olivia feels bad so she seeks Bash out and asks for self defense classes.
Again, the three books in this series are short and an easy read, I just wanted a little more from the story. Don't get me wrong the book was great and the scenes with Olivia and Bash were freakin hot as hell, I'm just a glutton for intensity, fights and angst in the books i read LOL I know I know, again to each their own!

Love the Way You Lie (Stripped #1) by Skye Warren

This was the first book I've read by Skye Warren and let me tell you, it won't be the last! I will warn you....the way this author writes is NOT for everyone. This series is considered "dark erotica." It's intense, it's dark and it's not for the faint of heart. I suggest you be at least 18 years old to read this story. You've been warned!

Honor "Honey" Moretti is a stripper who showcases and sells her body for money. She's the daughter of a mob boss and the fiancee to a sadistic man who can't wait to take the reins in the family business. Honor has lived under her fathers will for years and when she can't take being a puppet in their cruel world anymore, Honey escapes taking her 16 year old sister Clare with her.

Honor possess a strength that is truly courageous. She knows what she's up against yet she does what she has to to survive and make sure that her little sister doesn't have to endure the same life she has. Honor's "past life" had me truly sick to my stomach. The office scene that Honor refers back to in a memory left me completely mind f***ed. I had no coherent thoughts.

All that Honor has worked for to hide starts to crumble once she meets Kip. At first you think he's just a paying customer but you learn VERY quickly that he's more than that. Honor has her suspicions and every warning signal is going off that he's a cop and she shouldn't trust him but she's lured to him like a moth to a flame. I wanted to hate Kip, I truly did! I knew he was bad news and he wasn't shy in telling Honor that he was a "bastard." You want so badly to know who he is, why he's sticking around and what the hell does he want with Honor? Things just did not add up with him and he kept you guessing on who he was and what his purpose was for sticking around. I quickly fell in love with Kip and his dirty mouth and alpha ways! He was very intriguing to say the least!

This book will sink it's claws in you and not let up until the end. I wanted so badly to reach through the book and beat the living shit out of Honor's fiance. He was one sick bastard who deserved to be tortured in every way possible. I really loved this book, even with it's dark theme, it was unlike anything I've ever read. It's definitely not for everyone. I cannot wait to read more of Skye Warren's books!

Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover Review!

" I don't know how love works, Dovie. I don't know how to be anything other than this, but I know the only thing that gives me hope is the idea of you and me. I know I'm not the ideal, not the dream guy, but no one will ever fight for you the way I will. I promise you that you will always have the best parts of me I have to give." Jay Crownover, Better When He's Bad

Jay Crownover has done it again! I've mentioned it before, but I'll say it again now- Jay is one of those authors where I'll buy whatever book she's releasing because I'm just that confident in her ability as a writer, as a storyteller, to know that I'll enjoy whatever she's got to share. Better When He's Bad was no exception.

In this book, we meet Shane Baxter, aka "Bax" or "Shane" depending on the mood ;) Our lovely lady of the book is Dovie Pryce. Bax is the quintessential bad boy. He's spent the past five years in jail for a crime he was setup for by his best friend, Race. Bax is bad, there's no doubt about it- he steals, he fights, he does what he needs to do to get by. Shane wants to be better for her.

Dovie grew up on the wrong side of the tracks as well, getting by however she needed to. She's fought against a hard life and has come out with goals to help others in the future. She's admittedly terrified of Bax, but can't help the way she feels for him.

" I hated to admit it, but he was all sorts of sexy felon. God, what was wrong with me? That kiss had made me stupid."

The chemistry between Bax and Dovie is great. It's as if there's a desperation between the two of them, which makes sense since they're desperately trying to find Race before the big bad Novak takes him or anyone else out. Throughout the book, Bax puts protecting Dovie above most all things. On the hunt for finding Race who's gone underground proves to be a little dangerous for Bax and Dovie, who happens to be Race's half-sister. On the hunt for Race, Bax and Dovie develop feelings for each other. They stay together to stay safe and Race stumbles upon them in bed one night.

Race was NOT happy about Bax and Dovie. Bax decided to leave Dovie, leave her with Race for her protection. Bax wanted to sacrifice himself for the protection of Race and Dovie. Once Race saw how much Dovie cared about Bax and how much Bax seemed to care about her, he started to come around.

Then, the unthinkable happened!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Bax walked straight into Novak's trap. Novak has killed one of Bax's friends, seriously hurt Race, is cutting up Dovie right in front of Bax, and has Bax's half-brother police officer Titus down on his knees. Bax decides the only thing Novak wants more than revenge is power. Bax knows the only thing he can do to take away Novak's power is end it all. Just as Bax is getting ready to pull the trigger, the FBI storms in. A gun goes off...

You'll ust have to read the book to find out how it all ends ;) I hate to do it to you, but I LOVE this book and I want you to read it, too! If you really want to know what happens, just comment or email me and I'll let you know but I thought a bit of mystery may be fun!
