Review:

Dang, does A.L. Jackson know how to write a good book or what?! That ending was just… perfection. There were twists, turns, highs and lows throughout the entire story and I couldn’t get enough!

Logan and Aster are the modern day Romeo and Juliet. Star crossed lovers doesn’t even begin to cover it. There’s no way their love, their relationship could ever work in their worlds. Families wouldn’t allow it. Their lives wouldn’t allow it. It’s forbidden. 

But, love is strong. Love perseveres. The heart knows when it’s found it’s match. As a reader, you can feel from reading just the early pages of this book that Logan and Aster are two parts that make a whole. They belong together, even when they can’t be together. Your heart breaks when their hearts break. You laugh when they laugh. Jackson has a way of making these characters so special that you can’t help but cheer them on, feel their pain, hope with them, grieve with them. She’s such a talented writer and this next installment of the Redemption Hills series was everything I hoped it would be. It is filled with love and drama, hope and loss, suspense and contentment. I loved getting to witness some more of the other characters we’ve already fallen in love with from this series. You can really feel the love and understand what family is supposed to be when you look at this group. None of them have ever had it easy, but boy do they love one another. Logan and Aster are the perfect addition. Her North Star and his little star. I loved the immediate Fantastic Foursome. I cannot freaking wait for Tessa’s story. I can’t wait to see her with someone who deserves her! Gretchen literally had me laughing out loud. Juni and Gage stole my heart in this book just as they did in the others. 

All of it was just so freaking good. Another fantastic job well done, A.L. Jackson! Thank you for another perfect installment to this incredible series!

The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan - Review

I am now an addict of Kristen Callihan's books! I one clicked this bad boy after another author kept going on and on about it. So I dove in and I loved every.single.second.I'm not usually into football type stories but this one just grabbed me and sucked me in for the entire ride.

Anna Jones is a college student who has issues with relationships, love and kissing on the lips! She likes her men as hook ups and nothing more. No attachments, no relationship drama and no worries of getting your heartbroken. Her whole world is turned upside down when she meets star Quarterback, Drew Baylor, who just so happens to be sitting right next to her in Lit class. I have to give it to Drew, the boy was persistent! Even after Anna told him she did not "date" he was totally okay with having her as a "booty call", which is what they refer to each other as.

I loved every word, every sentence, every paragraph of this book! Right when I thought I had everything figured out with Anna and Drew, a big old fat wrench is thrown into the mix just to stir shit up! The two of them are hot as hell together and God have mercy can Kristen Callihan write a sex scene! Call the fire department cause I'm on fire!!!!!!!!!

I laughed so many times in this book I honestly felt like when I was reading Anna's POV, I was in my head! Her thoughts and reactions to situations were exactly how I'd react. I think my favorite was:

         "Never mind the fact that we have virtually no examples of a utopian society thriving in a real
          world situation," I say. One of the girls who has been mooning over Baylor since the beginning
          of the semester raises her hand, as if she needs permission to speak, "What about Atlantis?"

          Oh, Jesus Christ in a peach tree.

I laughed so hard at that one simple sentence I had tears in my eyes! This is only one of many of Anna's quirky thoughts. I loved everything about Anna. Some reviews said she was naive and let her "daddy issues" get in the way but honestly, I felt like Anna reacted to things as most girls who have issues with relationships would.

 I loved her will to fight as well as her weakness to struggle with her emotions. By the end she fought for what she wanted and that was Drew, even when he tried his damndest to push her away after his injury, she stayed. The scene where they have their epic fight, after his injury, and they start throwing each others clothes outside, was so intense yet it kind of brought everything together. It's hard to explain so just red the damn book!

Love the Way You Lie (Stripped #1) by Skye Warren

 This was the first book I've read by Skye Warren and let me tell you, it won't be the last! I will warn you....the way this author writes is NOT for everyone. This series is considered "dark erotica." It's intense, it's dark and it's not for the faint of heart. I suggest you be at least 18 years old to read this story. You've been warned!

Honor "Honey" Moretti is a stripper who showcases and sells her body for money. She's the daughter of a mob boss and the fiancee to a sadistic man who can't wait to take the reins in the family business. Honor has lived under her fathers will for years and when she can't take being a puppet in their cruel world anymore, Honey escapes taking her 16 year old sister Clare with her.

Honor possess a strength that is truly courageous. She knows what she's up against yet she does what she has to to survive and make sure that her little sister doesn't have to endure the same life she has. Honor's "past life" had me truly sick to my stomach. The office scene that Honor refers back to in a memory left me completely mind f***ed. I had no coherent thoughts.

All that Honor has worked for to hide starts to crumble once she meets Kip. At first you think he's just a paying customer but you learn VERY quickly that he's more than that. Honor has her suspicions and every warning signal is going off that he's a cop and she shouldn't trust him but she's lured to him like a moth to a flame. I wanted to hate Kip, I truly did! I knew he was bad news and he wasn't shy in telling Honor that he was a "bastard." You want so badly to know who he is, why he's sticking around and what the hell does he want with Honor? Things just did not add up with him and he kept you guessing on who he was and what his purpose was for sticking around. I quickly fell in love with Kip and his dirty mouth and alpha ways! He was very intriguing to say the least!

This book will sink it's claws in you and not let up until the end. I wanted so badly to reach through the book and beat the living shit out of Honor's fiance. He was one sick bastard who deserved to be tortured in every way possible. I really loved this book, even with it's dark theme, it was unlike anything I've ever read. It's definitely not for everyone. I cannot wait to read more of Skye Warren's books!
