Review:
I have been anxiously awaiting this book since finishing Pieces of You. Let me start off by saying, this is definitely one of those books where you NEED to read the first book. This is a duet because it directly builds from the first book. You meet these characters in book one. You fall in love with these characters in book one. You want to scream at and simultaneously hug these characters in book one. That last sentence remains the same for book two! This book made me feel all the same feelings (in a great way) that book one made me feel. I have become so invested in these characters and their choices and their lives and their families. Pieces of Me felt like such a great extension of what I’d already fallen in love with and definitely wanted to read more of. Not only do I love Jamie and Holden, our two main characters, but I fell in love with Big H and Maggie in this story. They are everything you want to see and have in parents. I love how they welcome Jamie with open arms and no judgment. I love the person they’ve helped Holden develop into. I love the imagery of the nursery and so wish I could pull up an RV and camp out by the secret garden. There are some really hard things these characters go through, challenging things to even read about in this story, but oh how it makes these characters feel so real. The world building of this story is so good, and has made me interested in not only our main characters but so many others that are mentioned. So many emotions came out reading this story, it was quite the roller coaster! I highly recommend you checking out this duet, you won’t be disappointed!
