Review:
What a journey this book has been. AL Jackson ALWAYS has a way of writing books that are filled with characters you can’t help but love, storylines that keep you enthralled from page to page, and the ability to make the reader feel a full range of emotions throughout the book. From Here to Eternity was no exception! River and Charleigh’s story was so good I didn’t want to stop reading. Pesky things like sleep and responsibilities got in the way, but every time I had the chance to pull up my Kindle app I was devouring this book word for word. Charleigh’s story was beyond heartbreaking and reading through this book, it was easy to feel her pain, her sorrow, her grief, but also her will to live. By the end of this book, it was so exciting to see how far she’d come as a character and no longer let her fear define her. A lot of that had to do with the love and encouragement River gave her, too. Man, who wouldn’t want a fella like that on their side?! Even with the hard things his character has had to to, his heart is pure and he is beyond loyal to those he cares about and even those he doesn’t know but feels the need to protect. I love his relationship with Raven. I love Raven & Charleigh’s friendship. And Nolan… precious, sweet Nolan! That little boy had me all up in my feels! There really isn’t any character in this book (apart from the obvious villain in the story) that I didn’t love. Sign me up for Moonlit Ridge and the SS family! It was also so good to get some glimpses of the Redemption Hills family I fell in love with in another series of AL Jackson’s. Trent and Jud and their families will always be some of my favorite fictional characters! Overall, I just loved this story. It was full of suspense for me as the reader, desperately needing to know how the story was going to end, and wondering how all the details before the end would fall into place. It ended with quite a bang, but not altogether differently than I expected. I am anxiously going to be awaiting Raven’s story next!!
