Oh my goodness, AL Jackson knows how to get me hooked!! She has been one of my favorite authors for years and continues to prove why she remains on my favorites list with this book. She always writes stories that are so intricate, so inviting, so full of love, drama and suspense, I can’t help but devour any new book she writes. This book was no exception to that. Hailey and Cody are so dynamic as individuals and a couple. Their story will keep you hooked from start to end. I had to know why Hailey felt so guilty, why it could be that bad to have the feelings she did. It can’t be as simple as an argument between friends, can it? I was desperate to find out why Cody frequently insisted he was on borrowed time. Was he sick? Is someone after him? Did he do something? Their stories individually were enough to fill the pages and keep my mind entertained, but bring them together and boom- the fireworks began! Not only did I love our two main characters, but I cannot write this review without expressing my love for that little button of sunshine Maddie or the Grandmother we all know and adore, Lolly! Oh, Lolly. Also have to give a big shout out to seeing more of the other characters we know and love from Time River and how seamlessly they add new people into their family. The way AL Jackson writes these stories just makes you want to be a part of this town, this group of friends, this family. This story was so well written and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It had some turns I expected and others I didn’t, and I loved every minute of it. I hope you’ll take the time to check it out, too!
